With so many fad diets out there, it's hard to know how to eat. What foods are good for us? What foods should we avoid? I have spent many years trying fad diets and experimenting with all sorts of different ways to eat, and what I have learned is to keep it simple. I have also learned that it is possible to be a mom, be a wife, run a home business, AND still be healthy!

I am in no way perfect with my health but I am always trying to tweak my lifestyle for the better and 85% of the time I hit a home run. Here is a look into what my daily health routine looks like and how I strive to maintain my health.

Early Morning

Every morning I wake up and I fill up my gallon jug with water that I try to have empty by the end of the day. Next, I start my day by consuming the nutrients of over 30 raw fruits, vegetables, and berries with my Juice Plus Capsules. I also drink my Juice Plus Complete smoothie that I pack with my homemade almond milk, bananas, spinach, chia seeds, berries, and carrots.

Mid Morning

Mid morning I eat a larger meal. It is my goal to eat a fruit/vegetable with every meal. For my mid morning meal, I make a vegetable egg scramble. I typically sauté red bell peppers, zucchini and onion together with 2 eggs and top it with avocado and have a piece of fruit on the side such as grapes, clementines, or apples.

Afternoon

During the afternoon I eat my Salad In A Jar. After a couple of hours, I'm hungry again so I usually consume another Juice Plus Complete smoothie.

Evening

My evening meal always varies, but I typically have some sort of meat such as chicken, tilapia, or turkey meat. I pair our meal with a vegetable of some sort, or another salad and usually a white or sweet potato as well. A couple hours after dinner, I am usually hungry again before bed. My go to evening snack is cashew butter with a chopped banana and raisins.

While I will change things here and there on occasion, such as making pancakes for breakfast or going out with the family for ice cream, I typically keep to this plan 85% of the time. I believe that you should stick to a clean eating health regimen 85% of the time and the rest of the time, do what you want. Eating healthy is extremely important but it's ok to splurge and enjoy life's delicious foods every now and then as well. Like Michael Pollan says: Eat Food. Not Too Much. Mostly Plants.
